Switzerland v Portugal Live

Co-hosts Switzerland will be hoping to give their fans something to cheer about when they take on Portugal at the St-Jakod Park in Basel. This will also be Switzerland’s last game in Euro 2008.

Switzerland crashed out of the tournament when they lost 1-2 to Turkey. Hakan Yakin had put the Swiss ahead mid-way through the first half, but a goal from Semih Senturk evened up thngs.  Ardan Turan spoiled the Swiss party in the last minute when he was on hand to sent the ball home via a deflection.

Portugal became the first team to go through to Euro 2008 quarterfinals after their 3-1 win over the Czech Republic. Deco, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricardo Quaresma scored for the Portuguese, while Libor Sionko pulled one back for the Czechs.

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is likely to experiment with his line-up and give a rest to some of the senior players in this game.
