Middlesbrough v Celtic Live

Celtic take on Middlesbrough in the Algarve Challenge Cup opener on Tuesday as they look to overcome a shock defeat in their last game against Fulham.

Manager Gordon Strachan will be disappointed by his side’s performance against Fulham who emerged comfortable 2-1 winners at Craven Cottage and will be looking for a vastly improved performance against Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

Patrick McCourt is the only signing so far for Celtic this season though talks are underway to sign Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras on a permanent deal. Meanwhile Middlesbrough have signed Didier Digard and Marvin Emnes so far while George Boateng joined Hull for an undisclosed fee.
