Bolton duo Ricardo Gardner and Danny Shittu face fitness tests after returning from international duty with Jamaica and Nigeria respectively. Joey O’Brien definitely misses out with a thigh injury but Ebi Smolarek and Gretar Steinsson could be available.

Middlesbrough duo Emanuel Pogatetz (knee) and Mido (groib) have both been passed fit and Jeremie Aliadiere has recovered from an illness. But Chris Riggott (hamstring) is out, so David Wheater is set to play.
