After an uncomfortable 1-0 win over Falkirk in their first match Rangers play Hearts at the Ibrox in the second game of their SPL campaign.

A lone goal from Andrius Velicka got the Gers off to a solid start to the new SPL season. After the heartbreak of being dumped out of Europe, manager Walter Smith has managed to get his team off to a winning start.

Hearts also started on a winning note beating Motherwell 3-2 thanks to goals from Michael Stewart, Audrius Ksanavicius and Saulius Mikoliunas. David Clarkson grabbed a brace for Motherwell.

New Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo has been linked with Hungary goalkeeper Janos Balogh and may bring him to Hearts before the transfer window closes.
