Villarreal v Celtic Live

Celtic face a must win match against Villarreal in their Champions League clash on Tuesday with a defeat leaving the Scottish champions with an uphill task of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Celtic were held to a disappointing draw by Aalborg BK at Celtic Park and manager Gordon Strachan will be expecting a vastly improved performance from his side. However Villarreal will be confident of building on their good performance against Manchester United with all three points against Celtic thanks to the visitors’ dismal away form.

Celtic have failed to register a single point away from home, losing their last eight matches on road. The Scottish champions managed to qualify for the knockout stages last season thanks to their superb home form that saw them win all of their three group matches at Celtic Park but with the side dropping two vital points at home, Strachan will be aware that his side will have to collect points on road if they are to have any hopes of making it to the next round.
