Republic of Ireland face Colombia in their next friendly after having limped to a 1-1 draw against Serbia in what was coach Giovanni Trapattoni’s first game in charge.

Ireland will be without Shay Given, Lee Carsley, Kevin Kilbane, Darron Gibson and Joey O’Brien, while Steve Finnan is out with a hernia operation. Trapattoni appears to have put his faith in fresh talent with O’Dea, Scannell, Damien Delaney, Kevin Foley, Owen Garvan, Wesley Hoolahan and Glenn Whelan all winning caps for the first time.

Colombia coach Jorge Luis Pinto has included Stalin Motta and Jaime Castrillon after injuries to Yulian Anchico and Freddy Grisales rendered them inactive. Colombia also play France on June 3 in a friendly.
